winter is one of the best yet hardest times of the year for us. it’s great because it offers us some much needed downtime after the madness of our fall portrait and wedding season. saturdays at home by the fire. time with friends and family that doesn’t have to be “scheduled”. a chance to read a few books or watch some movies. on the other hand, it’s an anxious time. with a new year on the horizon, all our goals and aspirations of the coming year are met with the weather and seasonal restraints. on one hand we mourn the loss of a sweet season of relaxation yet on the other we anticipate a new year filled with new shoots, new people, and new creation. for our family, the last few months have been a bit different than in years past. we anticipate some changes in our family which has really affected our time and attention to the business in the past few months. because of that we haven’t afforded ourselves a great deal of time looking back and planning for the future quite as early in the new year as we usually do. though it may be a couple of months later than most resolutions, we’ve decided that march is as good of a time as any to give a bit of an update of where we’re at and what we’re looking forward to this next year.
when i (erin) started taking pictures 4 years ago, i relied heavily on my blog and slideshows to spread the word. thanks to all of my incredible clients, it worked wonderfully. we are so thankful that we have never had to advertise for portraits or weddings (thank you!). recently however we feel like we haven’t given the blog the attention we once did. with great eagerness and excitement, we vow to return to our roots by posting more relevantly and consistently.
along the lines of our amazing clients, we are amazed that we are anticipating our 1,000th session in 2010. that is insane! so to honor you–our loyal and vast clientele–we will be offering many, many, many deals and promotions throughout the year. we haven’t decided the exact details yet but we can promise that our 1,000th customer will not have to worry about pictures for a long time! seriously, we sincerely thank you all so much for your business.
a little about us… a lot is the same around here but a lot has changed as well. portrait season has begun. i’ll be offering a few saturdays this spring and remain pretty open in the week. weddings will be keeping us busy most other weekends. we are going to be doing some different types of shoots and may need some volunteer families to help. we’ll make a casting call when we get there….it will be a great way to get different pictures of your family for FREE! also we are about to begin some video/photography sessions. if you like our slideshows, you will love these new videos. corey recently stopped working with the newspaper to take on more editorial work (which he is loving). his venture into video has led him to some commercial gigs which are really taking off. expect to see more of that in the coming months. we hope you are willing to join us for 2010. we are not sure of all that it will hold but we can promise you this–it will not be boring!
